Spokane WA

SPOKANE, WASH. – MARCH 22, 2005 – PC Open Inc. announced today its plans to introduce a new series of High Definition Digital Recorders featuring support for a combination of digital network and traditional analog video sources. The new “Hybrid” lineup will be capable of recording audio and video from up to 16 independent network video devices simultaneously. The ability to record digital video over a LAN, WAN, or the Internet provides integrators with a new level of flexibility in designing custom video surveillance and management systems. Digital video from a variety of offsite locations may now be recorded cost effectively by leveraging an existing network infrastructure.

PC Open’s Hybrid ready HDDR’s will initially support network cameras manufactured by Toshiba and AXIS. Support for additional manufacturers is expected in a forthcoming software update currently scheduled for July 15, 2005.

PC Open also unveiled a Hybrid platform upgrade and migration path for previously deployed HDDR’s. All systems manufactured after November of 2002 will be upgradeable by software to support at least 4 channels of network video recording.

“We are pleased that our new Hybrid platform will provide end users with a seamless migration path from analog to a fully network video system.” said Brent Gable, PC Open’s National Sales Manager. “Our new Hybrid technology is going to make network video recording and management a reality for a large number of organizations in terms of functionality, performance, and cost.”
